For years, I served others — as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, a Registered Nurse, a Boy Scout leader, and a teacher. But it was after a life-altering battle with long COVID that I truly came to understand what it means to start over.

I spent months in ICU, rehab, and long-term care. I experienced setbacks, loss, and the slow process of rebuilding. Through it all, I felt the sustaining presence of God — in the prayers of others, in the care of nurses, and in the voice of hope that never fully left.
